Defensive Handgun - Basic (Home Defense)

This course is conducted by Craig's Amory Training Division. It is offered in two different levels, Basic (Home Defense) and intermediate-advanced (Level II - Dynamics of Personal Defense & Close Quarter Combat)

This course is suitable for beginners as well as experienced handgun users. It tackles a wide range of topics, including basic gun safey, marksmanship, handgun operation, the proper mindset, how to prepare your home for safety, use of force and aftermath of a defensive encounter. This is a 4 hour course.

• Defensive Accuracy
• Ammunitions

Part II: Defensive Mindset

• Situational Awareness
• Responding to Threat
• Confronting the Intruder / Attacker
• Utilization of Concealment / Cover
• Clearing Malfunctions / Stoppages

Part III: Firearms Laws

• Firearms Laws
• Use of Force / Self Defense
• Legal Aftermath

Part IV: Home Safety Strategies

• Making Your Home Safer
• The Safe Room
• Emergency Plans

Part V: Range

• Review of Pistol Shooting Fundamentals
• At least two hours of range time
• Bring appropriate firearm model (rental guns are available on first-come-first-serve basis)
• Bring 150 rounds of ammunition (ammo sold at the range at reasonable prices)
• Eye and ear protection are mandatory (If you don't have one, they will be provided)
